Gefilte Fist are a useless "band" from Tampa, Florida that initially earned recognition for their lame garbage and as they evolved, for their introspective melodies and touching musical soundscapes. Gefilte Fist are known for their childish and immature lyrics, sonic experimentation, innovative cover art, and overall lack of musical ability.
Since the release of the band's highly disappointing debut album in November 2004, Gefilte Fist has become known for their musicianship, complex compositions, and diverse lyrical motifs drawing heavily on science fiction, gravy, bacon, sausage, stupidity, Loyd Hampson and philosophy. Gefilte Fist's music style has changed over the years, beginning with technical-inspired heavy metal on their first album, then encompassing blistering alt pop, progressive country, doo-wop and a period with heavy use of progressive elements and savage techno dumpster diving.
Gefilte Fist are still rolling out musical garbage and plan to keep going as long as possible right there. Being innovators in the musical world, Gefilte Fist blends progressive rock, death metal, shoegaze, indie pop, noise, opera, blues and nostalgic, feel good music into a sweet and angelic wall of feces.
